ANETA TOMEK FLAMENCO (Vancouver, BC)
Aneta Tomek has been studying flamenco since 2009. She will be performing some choreographies by her teachers Andrea Williams and Kasandra Lee to traditional flamenco rhythms, as well as some “unauthentic” numbers she choreographed to the ol’ rock ‘n’ roll.
INTRODUCTION TO IMPROV WITH LUCK VILLAGE ENTERPRISES (Cumberland, BC)
Learn the foundations of improv in this 1.5 hour workshop with Robin Konstabaris. Through fun excercises and games, participants will explore basic concepts like storytelling, listening, and agreement. Space is limited to 16 participants.
UNION: AN IMMERSIVE STORYTELLING EXPERIENCE (Cumberland, BC)
Enter the world of Union, a fictional town loosely based on Cumberland inspired by photographs from the Cumberland Museum & Archives. A motley crew of actors, comedians, musicians, and local personalities will transport you back in time to explore lore, legend, memory and community in a series of theatrical and musical vignettes. Featuring a long-time resident as our very special guest!
This will be the inaugural edition of a new monthly event at Convoy Club, exploring the strange and wonderful history of a mining camp that became a village.
ARCANA DEA (Comox Valley, BC)
Arcana Dea - Latin for 'Mysteries of the Goddess’
Contemporary fusion dance, with ancient roots, that celebrates the beauty and strength of women, nature and the seasons.
Arcana Dea is a dance company based in the Comox Valley B.C. founded by artistic director Cathy Stoyko. Cathy Stoyko is a dancer, visual artist and mask maker as well as the owner of the Abbey Studio in Cumberland where she teaches dance classes, hosts workshops and cultural events. Arcana Dea dance formed out of these classes and is comprised of longtime students, peers and guest dancers performing her original choreography. Arcana Dea perform dances that range from women's traditional dances from the East (Middle East, India, Central Asia, Eastern Europe) to fusion belly dance, contemporary dance theatre, story telling and animation with masks and costumes. They often perform at community cultural events and festivals in the Comox Valley and occasionally beyond.

JA PACE (Vancouver, BC)
Ja Pace is a jewelry designer, dancer, musician, photographer, director and projection artist. She constantly seeks new ways to explore how to boost the emotional and metaphysical journeys undertaken by artists and art enthusiasts. She is accomplished in many forms of dance, including flamenco and ballet, and often plays and dances with bands around Vancouver, especially her globe-trotting family band, Rio Samaya.
COLLECTIF FEUX FOLLETS (Montreal, BC)
A group of groovy fire spinners, artists, and musicians that weave stories of mystery and wonder with every flick of flame. Creatures of the night will frolick with the faeries, dancing under straying stars. Join the flow or watch the wonder. The will be teaching and performing clowning and circus at this year's festival.
HAZEL LENNOX STORYTELLING (Scotland/Comox Valley)
HAZEL LENNOX is a renowned Storyteller from Scotland, now living in the Comox Valley. Her tales have been garnered over the last 30 years from many different countries and cultures. She enjoys audience participation and many of her stories have ‘hook lines’ built into them that children and adults always enjoy. A familiar figure in schools from Kindergarden to College, Hazel has told tales to people of all ages and backgrounds for many a long year (as they say in story). Join her at the Ilo Ilo Theatre lobby at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday 3rd for a feast for the imagination and heart.
